Mool Sagar Lake in Jaisalmer:
This beautiful Lake is located 8 Kms from the sand city of Jaisalmer. The lake is located on the way to the Sam Sand Dunes. This popular attraction comprises a famous garden and tank that was built for cool summer retreat. As you visit this Lake you can marvel at the mesmerizing Garden. The garden belongs to the royal family of Jaisalmer and is known for its Shiva temple. This temple is believed to have been constructed using two large blocks of sandstones.

You will be amazed to know that the entire Mool Sagar complex was built by Maharawal Moolraj II in 1815. You will also come across several wells and a Raj Mahal in this Mool Sagar Garden. The palace walls are decorated with different paintings and murals. This garden complex also comprises three Jain Temples that are dedicated to the Jain Tirthankars. The garden is close to the main city and can be reached by taking a ride in an auto rickshaw.

Gadsisar Lake in Jaisalmer:
Gadsisar Lake was built during the 14th century by Maharwal Gadsi. This is an artificial rainwater lake. There are numerous shrines and small temples on the embankment of this lake. The main attractions of the lake are the different species of birds, which migrate from distinct places. Some of these birds fly from the nearby Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary for drinking water. This lake is not an oasis, but is a water conservation tank that controlled the entire water supply during the reign of Maharwal Gadsi Singh, the Maharaja of Jaisalmer. There is a gateway located near the lake, which was built by Tillon (royal courtesan) during the 19th century. It arches across the road, where there is a statue of Lord Vishnu, which was installed in 1908. The Gadsisar Lake is situated near Tillon ki Prol (Gate of Tillon) in Jaisalmer. Travellers can take an auto rickshaw or rickshaw to visit this lake.

Amar Sagar Lake in Jaisalmer:
Amar Sagar Lake is situated at a distance of 7 Kms towards the western outskirts of Jaisalmer. It is a lake cum oasis, which lies adjacent to the Amar Singh Palace. This palace was constructed during the 17th century by Maharawal Akhai Singh in honour of his predecessor Amar Singh. There are pavilions with stairs near the palace that lead down towards the Amar Sagar Lake. The whole construction of this palace resembles pattern of apartments. It is a 5 storey building which is famous for its murals. This complex of Amar Sagar Lake and Palace includes various ponds and wells, along with an old Shiva Temple. Amar Singh, who was a great follower of Lord Shiva, built this temple in this complex. Surrounding this lake are varied figureheads of animals that have been carved in stone. As per legends, the carved figureheads are said to be the protectors of the royal family. Located close to the Jaisalmer Fort, tourists can take taxis or shared auto rickshaws from the fort to reach this lake and palace.
